Our service project for March was helping a local group build trails in Mt. Tabor Park, in Paulding County, GA. Velocity Church came out big for this afternoon project and taking the tools provided worked on several spots throughout the nearly 7 miles of trail potential being built. There was an expectation of achieving 100 man hours of labor on that Saturday, but we were able to kick it up a notch and log over 200 hours of labor. There were plenty of sore backs and tired legs from not just hiking into the woods to find the work spot on the trail, but then swinging rakes, hoes and shovels and picking up large rocks in our way. We began enthusiastically, but were grateful to hear the call for break time and even better–finish time. Still everyone had a great time and we are looking forward to April’s service project for Velocity Church. That project will be to clean up the trash along the road which our school, Baggett Elementary, resides.
We are looking to achieve some landscaping projects for needy families, working a booth at some car shows, help with parking and trash duty at our local July 4th celebrations and more. These projects not only positively affect our community, they also build relationships, between us and the community at large. Jesus came to serve and we choose to serve others in the name of Jesus.

Here is our group shot, taken after the work was done–and we are still smiling. Included in the picture are our two trail bosses who kept us on task and safe from danger.
Be careful for what you ask for. We begin a new message series this Sunday simply called, Q+A. We asked for your questions and promised answers for each question. All questions submitted so far are very well thought out, very intense and represent your heart and your desire to know more about God, His church and His being. And of course there is always the small print. And I have my own:
